THE VISION

The project team hopes to transform two adjacent sites in the heart of Asheville's RAD into public green space, 150-170 new housing units, approximately 10,000 square feet of commercial space, including artist studios, and retail and restaurant space for Asheville's diverse and growing population. This lively, public facing, neighborhood destination is also committed to walkability, open space, multi-modal transportation, and environmental stewardship.

 

Two exciting focal points of the 159 Riverside Project are structures currently on the property that aren't being utilized -- the old Mill Building and an old smokestack. We plan to incorporate both into the project plans and will be seeking community input on ideas for how to do so.

Lighting Store
Retail

10,000 SQ FT of commercial space including retail space for a restaurant, artist studios, and possibly a brewery.

Open Space

Open green spaces around the Mill Building and the 144 Riverside site park will be open to the community.
