THE VISION
The project team hopes to transform two adjacent sites in the heart of Asheville's RAD into public green space, 134 new housing units, approximately 14,000 square feet of commercial space, including artist studios, and retail and restaurant space for Asheville's diverse and growing population. This lively, public facing, neighborhood destination is also committed to walkability, open space, multi-modal transportation, and environmental stewardship.
Two exciting focal points of the 159 Riverside Project are structures currently on the property that aren't being utilized -- the old Mill Building and an old smokestack. We plan to incorporate both into the project plans and will be seeking community input on ideas for how to do so.

Retail
14,000 SQ FT of commercial space including retail space for a restaurant, artist studios, and possibly a brewery.

Open Space
Open green spaces around the Mill Building and the 144 Riverside site park will be open to the community.

Public Art
Rotating gallery & event space in the old Mill Building as well as a possible art activation on the 144 Riverside Drive site.
